Psalm 149:1 says, “Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song; sing his praise in the congregation of the faithful.”
God is always doing something new, and our celebration of that work should always be a fresh expression of praise in the collective voice of the faithful. We should daily thank God for his faithfulness, goodness, and blessings. And as we leave our church gatherings on Sunday, we re-enter our neighborhoods and our world to serve others as a testimony to God’s faithfulness and love to us. May we continue to participate in God’s Kingdom coming in this world and holistically loving those in need.
Help us, Lord, to see you in the eyes of the poor, to walk alongside them, to empower the poor financially, love them in spirit and truth, and to declare ourselves poor as long as anyone suffers need. Amen.
