Psalm 145:13 reads, “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom; your dominion endures throughout all ages.”
This verse is a lasting reminder of God’s eternal sovereignty. It is appropriate and humbling to realize that we can do nothing of significant eternal impact outside of God’s dominion. However, He does invite us to participate in and even usher in His kingdom. As the church, we should humbly serve to see God’s kingdom purposes break forth in the darkest corners of the earth.
Dorothy Day once wrote, “What we do is very little. But it is like the little boy with a few loaves and fishes. Christ took that little and increased it. He will do the rest.”
Lord, may You do the rest. May your kingdom come, and your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Amen.
